Ski holidays in Tux, Zillertal
Our apartment in Tux is right on the piste to the Rastkogelbahn, so you can set off on skis from the house and ski back to the front door in the evening. That makes it a proper ski-in ski-out base for the whole of Zillertal 3000.
Ski-in ski-out to the Rastkogelbahn
The piste to the Rastkogelbahn runs just a few metres from the apartment. In the morning you clip in by the house, and at the end of the day you ski back to the door. There is a boot dryer for the night, and your car can stay parked outside the house.
Zillertal 3000: around 200 km of pistes
One lift pass covers the Ski- und Gletscherwelt Zillertal 3000: the Hintertux Glacier, Eggalm, Rastkogel and Penken above Finkenberg and Mayrhofen. Together that is around 200 km of pistes, with runs up to 3,250 metres.
Hintertux Glacier, 7 km away
The Hintertux Glacier is about 7 km up the valley. In winter a ski bus runs from Vorderlanersbach to the Hintertuxer Gletscherbahn. Skiing on the Hintertux Glacier is possible all year round, so it is worth knowing about early and late in the season too.
Cross-country skiing in Tux
Tux-Finkenberg has around 24 km of groomed cross-country trails. The longest, the 14 km Luggi-Gredler-Loipe for classic and skate skiing, starts in Vorderlanersbach. You can hire equipment locally.
Tobogganing in the Tux valley
There are toboggan runs in the Tux valley, a fun change from a day on the pistes. Children tend to love them as much as the grown-ups do.
Winter walks to Hintertux
Around 38 km of cleared winter footpaths run through Tux. The Talwanderweg follows the valley from Vorderlanersbach to Hintertux, so you can set off on foot straight from the village.
